Jala Samadhi – What is Jala Samadhi

There are several type of Samadhi’s i.e Jeeva Samadhi, Maha Samadhi, etc. The most common one in North India is Jala Samadhi. This is because the great river Ganga flows in it. Though we call “it” a river, the rivers are all the female deities. Many saints have seen them like Saint Durvasa, Narada etc.

Our experience with the Master:

We went along with our master to the Haridhwar Kumbmela. We could see that 2 ladies in mid 30’s were bathing 10-15 feet away from us. When I tried to look into the direction, the eyes were stopped by an external force and I was “Not allowed” to look into that direction. In our team, only our Guruji could see the people around us (including them) freely.

Later Guruji explained us that “He could sense before entering Haridhwar that he will have the darshan of the rivers, Ganga, Yamuna & Saraswati. The 2 ladies were Yamuna & Saraswathi ofcourse, the third one was the Ganga”

We felt really blessed!!

Thus sages have had darshan of the rivers. Once the saint knows that their last minutes in this world has arrived, they communicate the same to the people around them. On the decided hour, they enter the Ganges. They dont sit below the Ganges river and meditate. They dissolve themselves with the great “Mother Ganges”. When a seeker wishes to have darshan, they can anytime give them.
